Registration Opens for ASSP’s Safety 2024 in Denver

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has opened registration for its signature safety education event, held two months later than usual this year. The Safety 2024 Professional Development Conference and Exposition is set for Wednesday, Aug. 7, to Friday, Aug. 9, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Safety 2024 offers workplace safety and health professionals a vast networking experience while highlighting best practices, industry trends and the latest product innovations. More than 200 continuing education sessions will provide practical information that safety professionals can immediately put to use at their organizations.

June 2023 OSHA Update

Thanks to Dave McDonnell, OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist, for sharing his “OSHA UPDATE” with the Wichita Chapter at our May 2023 meeting.

DHS CISA Active Shooter Resources and Training

Chuck Clanahan presented the latest information on workplace violence at our November chapter meeting. He also provided relevant information on related topics to assist with planning internal active shooter and workplace violence policies and programs.

Thanks to Excel Industries, and Taylor Redding for Hosting a Plant Tour (December 9th)

Taylor Redding (Chapter VP) set up a tour of the Excel Plant in Hesston, KS for this month’s Chapter meeting. We were able to learn a lot about the history of Excel, and the process of building the Hustler and Big Dog Mowers, which are made at the plant. Taylor discussed the various processes and highlighted the HSE accomplishments that have been made in the previous several years at the plant. The tour was well attended, and appreciated by everyone who attended.

WISE Mentoring Program
